Patong Beach - Phuket
Not a bad beach, but not the nicest in Phuket, you do however get a lot of entertainment and nightlife. Nightlife here is different from Pattaya; less glamorous, but still very active. Everything is expensive, not quite as expensive as in Samui but you can still find very good accommodation for a very reasonable price. There are many restaurants; a lot of seafood, pizzerias and even a Lebanese restaurant. There are a couple of department stores, well stocked supermarkets and plenty of souvenir shops where you can buy good quality clothes, shoes, sunglasses, watches, pirated video and audio CDดs; a bit of everything.
On the beach itself there are many umbrellas for rent; the beach is big and the umbrellas are not too close together which means there is still a lot of room for walking around, playing beach volley etc. Water sports are well catered for and there are lots of boats and water scooters for rent. Whilst swimming you will need to watch out for the ดtrafficด especially if you swim far from the beach. The road infront of the beach is very much alive by day as well as by night and if you are tired of sunbathing on the beach then you can easily wander around, sit for a cold drink and have a good time watching the people pass by. It can be a little unnerving to listen to all the hagglers beckoning you into their shops but it is not as bad as some other places and after a while you get used to it.
