With a massive variety of sports, nightlife and beaches, Phuket is, quite simply the ´complete´ holiday destination. There are three main beaches; Patong beach, Kata beach and Karon beach all on the west coast which are also the three most crowded areas in Phuket. However a journey accross the island will take you to some very nice and almost deserted beaches and a boat excursion will allow you to see some of the many surrounding islands which is a must.

Shopping malls, food stalls, water sports, restaurants, beer gardens and bars are all part of the Patong beach experience. The 3 kilometere long white sand beach is always full of activity. The provincial capital of Phuket town is also well worth a visit and is always bustling with activity. There are row upon row of mediteranian style stalls sell practicaly everything you could want at a very cheap price. You get what you pay for though. You have been warned.
