Wat Bang Riang is situated in the far east of Phang Nga Province next to the border with Krabi.
It is located in a hilly area and spread out over several mountain tops where various chedis and Buddha statues are erected. On a clear day the view extends as far as the Bay of Phang Nga.
The overall situation is reminiscent of many chedis in the north of Thailand.
The complex was built in the nineties of the 20th century. The workmanship of all buildings and other temple features is of a very high standard.
To visit the chedi interior a small fee is requested. Take your time to enjoy the scenery and the beautiful paintings of the life of the Buddha inside.
