The beach to the north of Thong Chai Hill is now called Thang Sai Beach. In former times when only one bungalow village, the Tawee Bungalows, existed at this beach, it was called Keereewong Beach.
To the north of this beach follows another beautiful beach, Haad Kaeo Beach, that some years ago was earmarked for an industrial complex so that all resorts were supposed to be removed. The nationwide protests of the locals against this project were finally successful and the project was shelved. 
The few resorts start one kilometer to the north of Thong Chai Hill and dot the coastline for another 3 km along the beach.
